jeremy + brianne | engaged.

this was a special day for bri + jeremy, but also for me.  not only was i present and bore witness to him on one knee, but i was able to capture it while camouflaged by a giant boulder and newly acquired friend, sam.  now, almost 2 years later, jeremy + bri are happily married and just became parents of the most adorable puppy while sam + i have grown incredibly close.  i enjoy life’s humor in pulling people together.  also in attendence for this engagement was the lovely and talented maryn hill forney (http://www.marynleephotography.com/) who is an incredibly talented photographer (and best friend of bri) based out of frederick, maryland!

“To me, photography is an art of observation.  It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place.  I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”

anthony + jenny | married.

anthony and jenny were one of the first people that i photographed for commission – i remember asking them to pay for a piece of equipment to add to my collection in exchange for photos.  i had an amazing experience and they got some pretty beautiful photos.  they have long since been married and now have a beautiful baby girl, but I am grateful for my continued humble beginnings.

erin + tim | married.

erin and tim were such a fun and energetic couple to work with, they had incredible family and friends that made their special day extra delightful.  i have a special place in my heart for erin and her family, as they are inredibly devoted green bay packer fans!

my assistant for the day, derek martin.

chase jarvis + seattle

favorite quote : “i want to get drunk and watch a puppet show…and i know i can do that in seattle.”

my love affair with seattle is something that will last a lifetime and chase jarvis, an incredible global photographer, captures the cities essence by profiling a few of it’s most eclectic characters.  swoon.

urban tribe + holiday tradition

this year will mark the 4th annual urban tribe holiday photo.  one of my most beloved events, where friends come together, drink delicious craft beer and participate in tacky holiday photos. the result? holiday cards on hundreds of refrigerators around the world.  last year the urban tribe holiday card reached all the way to switzerland and thailand.  this is definitely a holiday tradition that will continue for years to come.  below are some of my favorite photos from the past 4 years.

adventures in photography.

after years of capturing the intimate moments of family and friends, i have decided to pursue a more focused adventure in professional photography.  life’s most recent events have spotlighted a feeling of joy and passion whenever a camera is in my hand documenting people’s most important life-moments. with the support of the people closest to me, i step forward on life’s next adventure and joyfully move toward a career filled with passion, love and creativity.
